For a different twist on an evening out with friends, TechCrunch paid a visit to the Playdium Virtual Reality arcade in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The space is located directly above Razer’s Hong Kong store and opened earlier this month. It is decked out with impressive VR kit and games, including a virtual boxing ring, virtual stadium fighter and more. One of the titles includes specialist shoes which, in conjunction with a dedicated VR rig, allows gamers to move, and even run, inside games. The boxing experience, meanwhile, is as tiring as the gym, if not more so. Our Playdium experience was an awesome one, and most of us didn’t even get the chance to sample all of the games. The level of energy required makes VR gaming the polar opposite of the lazy couch potato console gamer.
