Android Lollipop

Android Lollipop

Android 5.0, or Lollipop, is a version of the Android mobile operating system developed by Google and unveiled in June 2014 during Google I/O. Lollipop became available as official over-the-air updates for devices including Nexus and Google Play edition devices. Lollipop includes a redesigned user interface built around a responsive design language called Material Design.

Also included are improvements to the notification system, internal changes to the platform and improved and optimized battery usage. In November 2014, Google made the Android Lollipop source code available.
