• Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen DLC inbound later this summer

Activision and Luxoflux would announce new DLC for T:ROTF on the day my review goes live. D’oh! Over TEN new multiplayer characters including ultimate fan favorites such as G1 Starscream and movie favorites like Sideswipe.
    Three all-new multiplayer maps.
Play new characters in both the Autobot and Decepticon single player campaigns.
New Expert difficulty mode with a fresh set of… Read More

  • CrunchDeals: Prototype for cheap (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)

I’ve heard good things about Activision’s Prototype, but was never sent a review copy even though I’ve received other titles from the publisher for review in the past. Currently reviewing Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (preview here) for the Xbox 360. Not a bad game, but I have some gripes with it. Anyway, Prototype is the featured Video Games Deal of the Day over at Amazon. Read More

  • Overpay Britannia: DJ Hero for $180 in the UK, but only $120 in the U.S.

How much would you be willing to pay for DJ Hero? The latest news or rumors or whatever you want to call it is that UK retailer ShopTo was apparently told by Activision that the MSRP of the game will be £107.99, or just shy of $180. That includes the turntable, of course. Read More

  • Activision ships Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen for every platform known to man

It’s almost Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (aka Megan Fox on an IMAX screen) time! Sadly, I missed the preview they held last night in NYC, which I’m extremely heartbroken over, but I’ll pay to see the movie regardless. Anyway, Activision is now shipping the game companion and I’m pretty excited to play it after having previewed it two months prior. Mostly… Read More

  • Activision to drop Sony PS3, PSP support?

In an interview with The Times Online, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick made it very clear that if Sony does not lower the price of the PS3 then the games publisher will cease support for the console. Read More

  • Amazon lists DJ Hero for $119 (including turntable)

I’m not sure how much faith we should put in these numbers, but here we go. Amazon has DJ Hero, of which I’m still deeply skeptical of, listed for $119.99. That includes the game and turntable. Read More

  • Guitar Hero 5 slated for September launch

Activision has declared war against the most popular band of all freakin’ time. The fifth installment in the Guitar Hero franchise (aside from the band specific titles) goes on sale September 1st, which is eight days before The Beatles: Rock Band hits store shelves. Oh boy! If I were a betting man, I’d say the The Beatles are going to sweep this round. Read More

  • Activision announces Guitar Hero 5, Band Hero

Besides DJ Hero, Activision also announced Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero for a Fall launch. Details are still scant, but we do know that you’ll be able to “drop in and out of songs and change band members, instruments and difficulty levels on the fly” in GH5. Band Hero is more family friendly with an E10+ rating and will feature Top-40 hits. Read More

  • CrunchArcade Preview: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen video game

I’m still pissed off that Bay gave Optimus moving robotic lips in the first film, but the overall awesomeness of seeing CGI Transformers 20+ years after the fact allows me to tolerate such insubordination. I never played the first game based on the movie, though. Activision’s title sold over a million copies, but received less than desirable reviews from jerks like me. Sometimes… Read More
