I’ll be honest–writing about Asia tech for readership based mostly in the U.S. can be difficult sometimes. I get the feeling that many people still associate Asian tech companies with original equipment manufacturers and knock-offs.
2014, however, may be remembered as the year Asia tech finally came into its own on the worldwide stage, with headlines like Alibaba’s record-setting initial public offering, Xiaomi’s whopping valuation, and the increasing importance of online commerce in China, India, and Southeast Asia.
