TechCrunch is accepting a limited number of applicants to volunteer at TC Sessions: Climate & The Extreme Tech Challenge 2022 Global Finals at UC Berkeley in Berkeley, CA. Following completion of a volunteer shift, volunteers will receive a complimentary ticket to the show and a complimentary ticket to Disrupt SF 2022 (October 18-22, 2022) in San Francisco. Volunteers help support TechCrunch’s Event’s team with various tasks such as setting up the venue (moving chairs and tables, assembling banner signs, etc.) to day-of operations (registration check in, running help desk, and more).

What days/shifts are available?
- Monday, June 13, 2022 – 11:00 am PT – 4:30 pm PT (5.5 hours)
- Tuesday, June 14, 2022 – 7:00 am PT – 12:30 pm PT (5.5 hours)
- Tuesday, June 14, 2022 – 12:00pm PT – 6:30 pm PT (5.5 hours)
Can I sign up for more than 1 shift?
Yes! Many of our volunteers help for the whole day / both days.
What kinds of tasks do volunteers perform?
Volunteers help support the TechCrunch events team in a variety of ways such as but not limited to:
- Setting up tables and chairs
- Putting up signage
- Session badge scanning
- Registration check-in
- Directional/customer support
- Speaker support
- Vendor expo set up support
Will I be trained?
Yes, TechCrunch will train all volunteers for any assigned tasks.
When will I hear back from TechCrunch about my application?
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis the week they are submitted on by no later than that Friday at 12:00pm PT. All applicants received after Friday 12:00pm PT will be part of the following week’s review. Due to volume, we only notify confirmed volunteers.
What’s the address/where do I need to go?
All volunteer activities will take place at UC Berkeley in Berkeley, CA at Zellerbach Hall. 101 Zellerbach Hall, Berkeley, CA 94720
Can I get paid/reimbursed for costs?
This is a volunteer opportunity. TechCrunch will not pay you for your time nor cover any expenses incurred by volunteers.
Does TechCrunch provide travel for volunteers?
TechCrunch does not provide any travel for volunteers nor cover any travel expenses incurred.
Is lunch provided to volunteers?
No, lunch is not included for volunteers.
When will I get my Disrupt SF ticket?
Volunteers who complete their full 5.5 hour shift will receive a link to their ticket no later than 1-week post event.
Are masks required to volunteer?
No, masks are recommended by not required to volunteer.
Is COVID19 Vaccination required to volunteer?
Yes, all volunteers must be fully vaccinated and received at least 1 booster prior to June 13, 2022 to be eligible to volunteer. Status will be checked on-site.
Is there an age requirement to volunteer?
Yes, all volunteers must be 18+ by June 13, 2022.
