Learning

  • Main Stage – This stage is where news will be broken but will have different formats beyond interviews and will host the infamous Startup Battlefield competition. This will be live streamed on techcrunch.com
  • The Next Stage – This stage will host interviews, panels and other content with a focus on “learning” opportunities focusing on our subject tracks. Videos of these stages will be available to Innovator, Investor, Founder and Insider pass types on demand after the show.
  • Q&A Sessions – These sessions will primarily host speakers from the Main Stage and The Next Stage and other industry experts from a specific subject “track” in a curated 45 minute question and answer session with audience submitted questions. These sessions will not be recorded and you must be present to take part in the conversation.
  • Showcase Stage – Select startups from Startup Alley will be interviewed on the Showcase Stage located in the heart of The Alley Expo
  • Workshops – These will be opportunities to get hands on and learn about products and services that can help your business

Startup Battlefield

Startup Battlefield is a competition held on the Main Stage at Disrupt where 20-25 Pre-Series A startups pitch to a panel of top tier investors for a chance to win $100,000 equity free prize money and the Disrupt Cup

  • Startups apply for a chance to be considered (applications are open until approximately 2 months prior to the event)
  • Selected Startup Battlefield participants are kept secret – you won’t find out who they are until they are announced at Disrupt
  • All Battlefield companies pitch in the semi-final rounds during the first two days of Disrupt
  • 6 finalists are selected to pitch again on the final day of Disrupt to a new set of judges (usually the cream of the crop like partners from Sequoia, A16Z, Kleiner Perkins, etc)
  • There is a runner up and a winner selected
  • The winner receives a $100,000 equity-free prize (TechCrunch takes zero equity in any Startup Battlefield company)
  • Our current statistics show that of the over 800 Startup Battlefield participants, they have collectively raised over $8B in funding and over 100 of them exit (be acquired by another company or go public)

Networking at Disrupt is designed to facilitate the right connections by bringing together people who’ll help each other level up. Startup Alley

  • The startups that exhibit (via the Startup Alley Exhibitor Package) will get one day to have a space in The Alley Expo to demo their wares and engage with the Disrupt audience. Those startups change out each and every day. These companies are limited to pre-series A companies
  • All startups in the Alley Expo are organized so that startups in the same “track” or group exhibit in the same area in The Alley Expo on the same day – we call these Pavilions
  • Each day you will see new startups in new verticals or “tracks”
  • Each Startup Alley Exhibitor gets:
    • 2 or 3 Founder passes depending on date of purchase
    • A 1 day exhibit table which includes power and a table top sign
    • And other benefits

Startup Battlefield companies also have exhibit area in a dedicated area within Startup Alley for all three days

Sponsors

  • Sponsors can either have a standard exhibit “table” or they can have larger space to activate in The Startup Alley Expo
  • Sponsors can also sponsor a group of startups in a particular category or region can host a delegation of startups for their own industry or country “Pavilion”

Receptions & Parties 

Disrupt SF will feature several receptions that are open to select audiences. Receptions provide a more intimate space where attendees with similar interests can meet each other.

  • Investor Reception: Open only to Investor and Insider pass type only
  • Women of Disrupt Reception: Open to all women attending Disrupt (not including Basic Passes)
  • Sponsored Receptions: Private/invitation only – sponsors can select who attends.
  • TC After Party: Open to all attendees of Disrupt (not including Basic Passes)
  • Speakers & Editors Dinner: This VIP dinner is only open to Insider pass holders, speakers, and TechCrunch’s editorial team.

Disrupt Mobile App

  • All attendees can get a list of companies/exhibitors via the Disrupt Mobile App
  • Innovator passes and above can also get access to attendee list and ability to communicate with other attendees
  • The mobile app features attendees name, info, and more along with information about startup alley companies and sponsors

CrunchMatch

  • Platform that allows startup founders and investors to request meetings with one another, schedules a date/time and assigns a specific table at the event for them to meet within the CrunchMatch area on the Expo floor at the event
  • Only available for Founder Passes and Investor/Insider Passes as the program is specifically for startups and investors

Rentable Meeting Rooms

  • Space is available for rent at the conference for people to hold meetings in 30 minute time increments
  • Investor pass holders receive 2 hours of meeting time
  • Insider passes receive 4 hours of meeting time included in their Pass type

Investor Lounge

Open only to Investors and Insider pass types. Provides a relaxing space to get some work done, take a break, or grab a bite to eat.

Startup Alley Exhibitor Lounge

Open only to Startups exhibiting in Startup Alley. Provides a relaxing space to get some work done, take a break, or grab a bite to eat on the day of your exhibit.

What kind of Networking can be done at SF Disrupt?

CrunchMatch

CrunchMatch is TechCrunch’s investor-to-startup white-glove matching service. Using our app, startups and investors are able to match and meet in designated meeting spaces right at Disrupt. Attendees of Startup Battlefield, Startup Alley and pass holders of types Founder and Insider/Investors will gain access to this platform.

Rentable Meeting Rooms

Disrupt attendees can book a private meeting space at Disrupt to hold meetings (up to 4 people) or catch up on work. Meeting rooms can only be booked increments of 20 minutes via CrunchMatch.

Investor Pass holders are eligible for up to 2 hours of free meeting space and Insider Pass holders are eligible for up to 4 hours of free meeting space.

What is the refund / transfer policy for Disrupt SF passes?

All purchases are NON-REFUNDABLE but you can transfer your pass to another person up until September 27 before the event by following these instructions.

Do you have preferred hotels for Disrupt SF attendees?

Yes, you can find a list of our preferred hotels and competitive rates with opportunities for upgrades and rewards from TechCrunch when you book through our hotel portal.

Will you be serving food at Disrupt SF?

There will be several vendors located at the Moscone Center with food and drinks available for purchase. There are also a multitude of restaurants within a 2 block radius of the Moscone Center. You can find a partial list here.

CrunchMatch???

CrunchMatch is our exclusive in-conference platform hosted by Brella.io which allows founders and investors attending the conference to request meetings with one another, schedules a date/time and assigns a specific table at the event for them to meet within the CrunchMatch area on the Expo floor at the event.

CrunchMatch will be available to ticketholders closer to the event.

Held in Moscone Center North, SF Disrupt 2019 is extremely central to the heart of San Francisco.

Easily accessible by the underground BART transit or MUNI metro, riders can disembark at the Powell Street Station and walk 5 minutes to the entrance with Moscone North on your left as you approach from Howard street.

What are workshops?

Workshops are held throughout the day at SF Disrupt and provide interactive opportunities for you to discover a more deep dive into a topic that interests you. You may be presented with new ways of problem solving and how to accelerate your business and hands-on opportunities to access potential products & services.

Workshops will be announced in the Agenda closer to SF Disrupt 2019 and attendees may register interest online as space can be limited.
