Don’t forget to transcribe podcasts

Insights from Maria Marques.
If you have a podcast, consider using a transcription tool like Trint to republish each episode as a blog post — feel free to cut the “ums” and “likes” before you publish. ;)
Transcribing podcasts helps in three ways:
  1. You create content that can organically rank in Google.
  2. You allow listeners to easily reference resources mentioned in your episode. And since everything is written down, you can retroactively add deeper sales pitches around any plugs for your own products.
  3. You make your content more accessible for both (1) people who don’t like to listen to podcasts and (2) the hearing impaired.

Piggyback on popular Tweets to get brand awareness

Insights from Toby Howell from Morning Brew.
On Twitter, you can grow your following, increase your brand awareness, and get website traffic by simply piggybacking off popular Tweets.  Many marketers are too lazy to create a systematic process around this, but it can be worth it. Piggybacking helps to de-risk whether your Tweet gets seen by anyone.
  1. Turn on Tweet push notifications for the big Twitter accounts in your industry. When those accounts Tweet something you think could blow up, jump in and be the first to comment.
  2. Specifically, have a process on-hand to quickly generate a picture meme (e.g., Photoshop) or video meme (via Kapwing) to share.
