Third round of Disrupt NY Hackathon tickets now available

Disrupt NY is right around the corner, and soon, thousands of entrepreneurs and tech enthusiasts will make their way to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in New York City for the show.

But one of our favorite parts of Disrupt actually takes place before the show floor opens — the Hackathon. We’re excited to announce that the third wave of tickets to the Hackathon is now available, so if you want to spend a weekend building the next great startup, be sure to get a ticket now.

The free Hackathon tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t waste any time hemming and hawing about whether or not to sign up — head on over to the ticketing page and reserve your spot right now.

The Hackathon kicks off at 12:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 7, with networking and the chance to form teams. On Sunday, after a grueling 20-plus hours of hacking, coding and tinkering, teams will have a mere 60 seconds to present their projects to a panel of judges on the Disrupt stage.

In addition to building something awesome, teams have a chance to win tickets to the main Disrupt conference, a $5,000 grand prize, and several toys, gadgets and monetary prizes from Hackathon sponsors.

Teams that score a three or higher from the judges will get two free tickets to Disrupt, which takes place May 9-11 at the same location. At Disrupt, you’ll get to watch a few dozen startups compete in Startup Battlefield, check out hundreds of startups on display in Startup Alley, and keep the networking going long into the night with the parties and after-parties during the show.

The Hackathon is good for both hardware and software companies — software company Witness won the Hackathon at Disrupt NY 2015 and hardware company Shower With Friends won the event at Disrupt SF in 2014. And it isn’t just small projects that do well at the Hackathon — GroupMe began as a Hackathon project and went on to get acquired by Skype for $80 million.

So bring whatever great idea you have and get ready to spend a weekend bringing it closer to reality. We can’t wait to see what you all come up with, so be sure to grab a ticket to the Hackathon over on our ticketing page.
