Do you love getting your hands dirty and want to be a part of the best startup show in tech? If so, you should definitely sign up to be a TechCrunch Work Exchange Volunteer at Disrupt NY 2016.
TechCrunch is happy to announce that we are now accepting applications to the Work Exchange at this year’s show.
Volunteers selected for the Work Exchange program must be able to work as many as 16 hours during the conference, doing things like staffing the registration booth, assembling VIP goodie bags, giving directions to attendees, or even helping out with the hackathon presentations. These things ensure our guests and presenters have an exceptional experience at the show, and we need your help to get it all done.
Work Exchange volunteers must be available on Friday, May 6 at 4pm at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal for a mandatory orientation meeting, and be available to work shifts starting May 6 after the orientation through to the last day of the conference on May 11. Shifts can start as early as 6am and end as late as 11pm, with each shift lasting around six hours on average.
In exchange for a bit of elbow grease, volunteers get an all-access pass to the conference, so you can tour the show when you’re not on shift. There, you’ll have the opportunity to network with the prominent people and companies attending the show. Plus, you’ll also get to connect and share learnings with other Work Exchange volunteers, creating lasting connections and friendships with like-minded startup enthusiasts. Oh, and you’ll also secure a pretty awesome exclusive gift filled with TechCrunch merchandise and swag.
Those who are accepted into the program are required to cover their own meals, housing and travel expenses. There will likely be some opportunities for volunteers to share rooms, however, and we’ll send along an invitation to the program’s Slack channel to all exchange volunteers so that you can connect with all the other volunteers ahead of time.
You can apply to be a Work Exchange volunteer by filling out this brief form no later than Friday, April 29. We’ll notify those selected into the program via email shortly after applications close, though due to high demand, we may not be able to notify those who aren’t selected into the program.
