What The Hack? API Workshop Schedules And Judges Announced

Hello, again. It’s your Disrupt Hackmasters, Reshma and Jeffery. We’ve got the inside scoop on the upcoming workshops and judges, and we’re passing the information on to you. First, our API workshops, because knowing is half the battle. The other 99 percent is perspiration.

2:00pm Twilio

w/ Matt Makai, Developer Evangelist

Ready to use the Twilio API in your hackathon project but don’t want to waste any precious minutes reading https://www.twilio.com/docs? Come to the Twilio workshop where you’ll learn how to add SMS, MMS and Voice to your hack as well as ask questions and get help with your code.

A family of about 20 APIs relating to taking payments on a website (Simplify Commerce), an e-wallet (MasterPass), some location-based APIs, some fraud prevention and other APIs.  REST and SDKs are available.

3:00pm Microsoft Outlook

w/ Richard diZerega, Principal Software Development Engineer at Microsoft

This workshop will provide a high-level overview of Office 365 development across Office add-ins and the Office 365 APIs. Office 365 offers a rich developer landscape for extending the Office experience with add-ins and connecting into the Office 365 APIs from a stand-alone application. Modern Office add-ins are built with standard web technologies and integrate with Office.js.

The AppLink Mobile Development team will aid hackers with a live walk-through of the AppLink SDK and supporting test apps and tooling.  In addition, questions about supported AppLink APIs and capabilities will be covered.
