Ad tech company AppNexus announced today that it has raised an additional $25 million in funding from ad holding company WPP. As part of the deal, AppNexus is also acquiring Open AdStream, the ad-serving technology from WPP’s Xaxis.
“Open AdStream has been one of the most effective and trusted ad serving platforms in the world for years,” said AppNexus CEO Brian O’Kelly (pictured above) in the funding release. “We’re going to make it #1 in programmatic.”
Back in August, AppNexus announced raising a $60 million round at a $1.2 billion valuation.
