Iconoclastic Billionaire And Investor Mark Cuban To Join Us On Our Disrupt SF Stage

I’m personally excited to announce that the one and only Mark Cuban will be joining me on stage at Disrupt SF for a fireside chat. From early an dot.com success to an outspoken sports team owner to household TV personality, Mark Cuban is seemingly everywhere. His accomplishments read like a bucket list. And the man just keeps going, recently launching an ephemeral messaging app.

This will be Cuban’s first time speaking at Disrupt, yet he was involved with TechCrunch50 in 2008 as a guest and expert judge. We’re glad he made room for us in his busy schedule.

Cuban is a serial entrepreneur and noted investor who co-founded Broadcast.com with Todd Wagner and later sold the company to Yahoo in 1999 for $5.04 billion. Prior to Broadcast.com, Mark also co-founded and sold eventually sold MicroSolution to CompuServe in 1983.

Since his dot-com days, Cuban went on to found the first high-def satellite tv network HDNet, buy the Dallas Mavericks, lose on Dancing With The Stars, make Shark Tank watchable, and most recently, co-found an ephemeral messaging app with Ryan Ozonian, Cyber Dust.

Mark once told me that he uses Cyber Dust as a sort of “dark Twitter,” broadcasting messages, photos and tidbits about the Mavs to his legions of fans. At least I think he told me that, since the message has since self-destructed.

He’ll be joining our impressive speaker list for Disrupt SF, which currently includes among many others, Laura Arrillaga-Andreessen, Marc Benioff, and Vinod Khosla — best yet, we have a number of surprises yet to announce.

There is still time to snag a Disrupt SF ticket at early bird pricing. After September, the price jumps by $1,000. If you’re interested in becoming a sponsor, reach out to our sponsorship team for more information.
