The Most-Liked Instagram Photo In The World Took 4 Days To Edit

Remember the time that Kim Kardashian proved that social media popularity has very little to do with talent by posting the most-liked photo of all time? It was a photo of her and her brand-spankin’-new husband Kanye West kissing at their wedding, and it stole the crown from Justin Bieber with 2 million likes in about 24 hours.

Turns out, capturing the top spot on Instagram isn’t as easy as you might think. Kanye West recently revealed that the couple spent four days editing the photo before it was posted to Instagram. “Because the flowers were off-color and stuff like that,” said West.

World-renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz was originally slated to shoot the wedding, and reportedly backed out at the last minute. But Kanye still wanted Leibovitz-level shots — for the happiness of his bride, of course.

“It pissed my girl off during the honeymoon,” said West, talking about how long it took to get the photo just right. But the Photoshopping exhaustion was worth it.

“The fact the number one most-liked photo [on Instagram] has a kind of aesthetic was a win for what the mission is, which is raising the palette,” West explained.

Everyone, to the marble conference table!
