New Transportation And Energy Accelerator To Run In Berlin And SF

Startupbootcamp, which has spread a network of accelerators across Europe is creating a new “cross-continental” program connecting Berlin and San Francisco based on “smart transportation” and energy. Global partners include Bosch, Castrol innoVentures, Cisco, Daimler, EnBW and HERE.

The idea is to accelerate startups working in the areas of Smart Mobility and Vehicles, Logistics and Supply, Location-Based Services, Sustainable Energy and Data Services, amongst others. An existing successful Berlin program will be folded into the scheme with the US side aiming to launch in early 2015.

The initiative will compete with others in the space including, Urban.us, Rockstart, Tumml and Ignite.

Each program will select the ten best startups from applicants across the globe and run a three-month Startupbootcamp in Berlin (Fall) and San Francisco (Spring).

Successful teams will receive €15,000 (over $20,600) and six months free office space in either Berlin’s Rainmaking Loft (a 1,000sqm coworking space) or in the future San Francisco home of Startupbootcamp.
