Wahanda Lures Former Just Eat CEO Over As New Chairman To Scale Bookings Business

Back in February, online food ordering and delivery site Just Eat lost long-time CEO Klaus Nyengaard, who had decided to step down in order to ‘spend more time in his native in Denmark’, rather than shuttling between there and London.

Well, it looks like he will have to carry on shuttling. Health and beauty marketplace, Wahanda, has lured Nyengaard over to become its new chairman, while Chris Wood, who was MD at TopTable, joins as Chief Commercial Officer. This bolstering of Wahanda’s board and executive team sees it powering ahead as the world’s largest health and beauty site. Health and beauty is a $10b+ industry in the UK alone, and still largely booked offline.

CEO and founder of Wahanda, Lopo Champalimaud, says both men have “proven experience in offering a dynamic, creative, forward-thinking approach to the digital sector”.

Wahanda is making significant inroads into becoming the JustEast/TopeTable of spa and salon appointments. Community-driven ratings and a Q&A platform allow customers to choose their spa or salon, making this a sort of Yelp for health and beauty treatments.
