Last Call For The TechCrunch Austin Meetup + Pitch-Off!

We’re in Austin. It’s hot here. I like it.

Tonight, from 6 to 10pm, we’re taking over the Stage on Sixth for our first meetup and pitch-off in Texas. We’re stoked. Come out. There are still a few tickets left.

After an explosion of applicants, we lined up 30 great Texas startups for tonight’s pitch-off. Each startup gets 60 seconds to demo their product to myself, John Biggs, and several local venture capitalists. The winner gets a demo table at Disrupt SF.

We’ve held about 15 of these meetups across the country over the last year. They’re always a great mishmash of entrepreneurs, VCs, curious onlookers and tech nerds. Later this year we’re headed to Seattle, San Diego, and Boston for similar events. Registration for the Seattle pitch-off will open soon.

Last night several of us sat down with local VCs to learn more about the area. We’re also meeting with 30 startups today. We have some spots still open. Email me (mattATbeta.techcrunch.com) if you want to stop by and we might be able to work you into a spot.

Austin has a great history of technology companies and that heritage is quickly turning the area into a hotbed for startups. Austin was a clear choice for a TechCrunch meetup.

Anyone 21 and older is welcome tonight. Come party with us. Tickets are just $5 and includes drinks.

We still have some startup tables left where you can demo your product to the attendees and TC staff. If you have any questions about the tables, please email Megan Lehn as soon as possible since the event is in a few hours.
