Citiservi, one-stop shop for local products and services, closes €1.5m round

Citiservi We covered Citiservi just over a year ago describing it as a “semantic local search” offering. Since then the company and product has evolved substantially, going through a yellow page, lead generation phase and settling as a consumer platform helping users find or discover local services and offers.

Today, Citiservi has announced a new €1.5m round which includes €500,000 from public funding (ENISA) and €1m from a number of private investors, including Julián Martinez, founder of the international classifieds group Adoos and José Antonio Garrido, Ex-President of Gamesa and ex-CEO de Iberdrola.

Citiservi for Android Citiservi operates out of Madrid, but is available in the U.S.UK, Italy and Mexico. Their primary market is Spain, however, where they’ve reached 600,000 unique monthly users. There are a number of local competitors limited specifically to lead generation for household repairs and renovation, including Tenders and Habitissimo.

Citiservi, on the other hand, is a horizontal lead generation platform for all kinds of services as well as a way to request estimates. Rather than a local coupon site like Oportunista, which has offers for restaurants and entertainment, Citiservi goes beyond entertainment, to serve all manner of day-to-day needs, such as plumbers, lawyers, movers, household appliances, etc. Essentially, they’re a one-stop shop, providing a wide-range of coupons, estimate requests and even an automated dial-in for emergency services, which matches your urgent service request with available providers on the spot.

Since launching, they’ve implemented a beta Android app, initially to offer Citiservi’s emergency services on the go. Coming soon is an iPhone roll-out, as well as the rest of the services currently offered via the web. The latest round will be used for marketing, beyond organic growth, and product innovation, as well as a stronger commercial push into other International markets.
