Nokia, fresh off implying that using Android would be like “pee[ing] in their pants for warmth during the cold winter,” has a new (and rather elaborate) contest to encourage you to create the next great mobile app. OK! It’s called the 2010 Call All Innovators, and there’s “$10 million in cash, devices, and marketing prizes up for grabs.”
Now, being a Nokia contest, the app(s) would have to be for the Nokia N8 (and “future Nokia devices”). I guess the idea is to encourage people in North America to, I don’t know, use a Nokia phone.
You go to Europe, plenty of Nokias to be found. You walk about the U S of A, eh, not too many of those floating around these days.
Nokia’s encouraging iOS and Android developers to enter—you’ll just have to make yourself at home with the Nokia Qt SDK.
