RIM Files Trademark For Possible Tablet PC Called ‘Surf Book’

Huge, huge news. Probably the biggest news since London found out Napoleon actually lost at Waterloo. Ready? OK, here we go: RIM has filed for a trademark. The trademark? SurfBook. What could this mean?

Probably that RIM is looking to make a tablet PC. Unfortunately for RIM, the only tablet-like device that matters, for better or worse, is the iPad. (If I see one more device described as an “iPad killer”…) Such is life.

Well, to be fair, the trademark filing—done in Canada, naturally—doesn’t indicate anything about the device.
