Gigabyte driver enables iPad charging on 40 of its motherboards

Charging an iPad via USB is a hit or miss affair. Some do it fine and some leaving you hanging. It’s something to do with the amount of power available via the port. Gigabyte just released a motherboard driver update for 40 of its motherboards that’s a simple on or off virtual switch to get the right power flowing to charge your iPad’s batteries.

Just jump over to Gigabyte’s website to check if your motherboard is compatible and then download the driver. It’s that easy to unlock the 500mA USB port on the right motherboard. Now if the iPad had a native USB port and not a Dock Connector we would be in business. [via SlashGear]
