ColdAvenger mixes inhaled cold air with exhaled warm air, sounds like a superhero

Look! Up in the sky! It’s ColdAvenger! No! It’s a guy on skis wearing a ColdAvenger mask! He’s about to land on me! That fortune cookie was right! “You will fall on a ski hill and it’ll hurt enough that you’ll lay there for a little while looking up at the sky. Just when you’re about to stand up, some guy in a ColdAvenger mask will take the same jump you just did and will land right on top of you. Have you ever read a fortune cookie that was this long? Amazing, huh?”

ColdAvenger is a post apocalyptic-looking winter mask that makes use of a special breathing valve that mixes the cold outdoor air with your warm breath while still keeping your face dry.

According to the product page:

“ColdAvenger mixes inhaled cold air with exhaled warm air to achieve a dynamic balance of warmth while keeping the face dry. Inside mask temperatures are 40º to 60ºF higher than outside, depending on activity. The patent-pending ventilation design allows for easy breathing during exertion, a critical feature for high endurance outdoor activities.  Moisture from exhaled air binds to the plastic piece, keeping the face dry.”

Patent-pending means that there’s probably nothing else like it. It was “researched and developed in Northern Rocky Mountain winters” and used comfortably in conditions up to –20 degrees. Pricing starts at $50, too, which isn’t too bad at all. Anyone use one of these yet?
