Games Gone Wild: social gaming just keeps getting hotter

moshiWhere commercial success leads, boozy networking events are sure to follow. And so it is with next Wednesday’s Games Gone Wild, a London event put together by Mind Candy‘s Michael Smith (@acton).

Actually, that’s not entirely fair. Games Gone Wild promises to be a bit more interesting than that: there will be speeches from some key players in the space and the chance to connect with other like-minded companies. And anyway, it’s about time the profile of social gaming was raised a bit.

Mind Candy’s Moshi Monsters is one of a growing number of online gaming products that’s actually pulling in the cash. Look at a leaderboard of profitable tech start-ups right now and you’ll see that many are involved in gaming – and most are pulling in some pretty impressive revenues. Check out Playfish, Bigpoint, Mind Candy, Jolt, eRepublik and Cybersports if you’re interested in learning more about the sector. Each will be present on Wednesday.

Tickets to Games Gone Wild are available by invitation, but you can get more info and try your luck at applying for tickets here.
