I was a big Guild Wars guy; it was the only MMO I ever got into, and the only one I really wanted to get into, since I’ve never enjoyed the social aspect, mainly just the exploration and upgrading my guy (a Hammer-wielding Warrior/Ranger if you must know). I haven’t played it in ages, mainly because it’s all about finding super-rare gear and PVPing. But Guild Wars 2 will give me a chance to be among the first to explore a new world again, and I can’t wait!
You can watch the trailer here (it was announced today at Gamescom); the slightly cheesy animation gives way to in-engine footage about halfway through. Not exactly Crysis, but it looks nice and I’m sure the world will be just as big as the old one.
