Austrian social yellow pages startup Tupalo.com is clearly making good use of its strategic alliance and investment which we reported in June; as of today, they have a language and country specific site for the Netherlands.
This new site is part of a data partnership with De Telefoongids BV, a leading provider of local search and lead generation services in the Netherlands. This should allow Tupalo.com users in the Netherlands to review over 300,000 local business listings around the country.
Users of Hyves, which is the largest social network and one of the most popular sites in the Netherlands, will be able to log into the new site using their Hyves accounts thanks to OAuth integration. Of course there is OAuth integration for Twitter as well so you can sign in with your Twitter account.
Tupalo competes with Qype in the Netherlands, and has the advantage of offering a language-specific site. The startup confirms that they currently have 5,000 active reviewers in Austria with up to 300,000 users a month visiting the site.
