Electro-shock therapy, made famous by The Simpsons so many years ago, is now banned in China as a treatment for “Internet addiction.” Apparently there were concerns over the safety of such a treatment. Go figure.

Electroshock therapy for Internet addiction…has no foundation in clinical research or evidence and therefore is not appropriate for clinical application.
