eMachines comes out swinging with the EZ1601-01 all-in-one PC. The “EZ” stands for “easy on the wallet” — I should have been in advertising — as the machine is priced at just $399. The company apparently saved a bunch of money on the above product image with the weird GIF outlines and is passing the savings on to you!
It’s basically a netbook in a monitor as far as specs go:
- Intel Atom N270 (1.6GHz)
- Windows XP Home
- 18.5-inch monitor with 1366×768 resolution
- 1GB of RAM
- 160GB hard drive
- 8X DVD burner
- Ethernet/Wi-Fi
- Five USB ports, two PS/2 ports (!), audio in and out
- Weighs nine pounds
The machine has just been unveiled and isn’t quite available in stores or online yet, although it shouldn’t be too long.
