Review: Dymo LabelWriter 450 Turbo

dymo450t

Label makers are a dime a dozen nowadays, so why would I bother reviewing one? Because the 450 Turbo from Dymo is fast. How fast? Just watch the video.

Aside from its blazing speeds, the 450 Turbo is easy to use and setup. The bundled software works on both Windows and Mac machines with a clean and intuitive UI. Replacing the label spool is also an cinch and accommodates all sizes for address labels, shipping labels, file folder labels, name badges, etc. Total setup time was less than five minutes. And it’s relatively small.

Dymo claims the 450 Turbo can churn out 71 labels per minute, but I’m not about to waste my entire spool of labels to prove them wrong. It works and it works very quickly, so that’s good enough for me. I don’t doubt that it can print up to 71 4-line labels in a minute. The software also auto corrects US addresses and includes the last four digits on any US zip code. That saves a tremendous amount of time when it gets to the post office for sorting. What more could you ask for? How about postage stamps?

Yeah, the 450 Turbo can do that, too. Buy a few dollars worth of stamps from Endicia and start cranking out postage stamps from home.

For $140 the 450 Turbo includes two starter rolls of address labels and Dymo Stamps postage labels.
