ftkxojvf3klnuemmediumSo you’ve gone green, but you’re concerned about your gadgets that charge off of your computer. Easy to fix, build yourself this very complicated device that’ll charge your devices as you pedal yourself to work and back.

Created by a group using a grant from MIT, the device was originally intended to be something that runners could use to charge their MP3 devices. It was quickly determined that this wasn’t feasible, so they moved to a bicycle based solution.

This is not an easy project to build yourself, it requires some advanced knowledge of electronics and it’s not cheap. The generator used costs somewhere in the neighborhood of $275, but the end result may be worth it to you if your are really into this type of technology.
