Pentax officially unveils the X70 and DA 15mm lens [Update]

No need to tell you what we already found out this morning about the X70 other than it shipping in April (official spec sheet can be found here (PDF)), so we’ll move onto Pentax’s other PMA announcement, the smc DA 15mm F4 ED AL lens.

Oh man, I bet this badboy produces some epic wide-angle shots. The high-grade aluminum 23mm (35mm format) hybrid aspherical and extra-low-dispersion glass optical element lens claims to have extremely low image distortion and it’s sans dome-shaped lip on the objective element.

The 15mm comes with a built-in flower-shaped lens hood and has a minimum focusing distance of 6 inches. Like most other Pentax lenses, this one has the Quick-Shift Focus system to toggle between AF and MF on the fly and comes with the Super Protect (SP) coating.

Look for the 15mm to drop in April for $650.
