IPEVO Kaleido R7: Photo frame with iPhone and WinMo syncing

Here we have yet another digital photo frame. It seems like it is raining photo frames at CES. You can find one on almost every corner. This time we’ve got one with iPhone and WinMo syncing. It’s called the Kaleido R7 from IPEVO and it does have a few things going for it.

This Wi-Fi-enabled device features a 7-inch 800×480 backlit LCD that can be swiveled to a landscape or portrait orientation. You can use the built-in 512MB memory or an SD card, but where this truly shines is streaming. In addition to streaming photos from a Mac or PC, you can subscribe to photo-sharing sites like Flickr and Picasa, or a plain old RSS feed. You can also sync with an iPhone or Windows Mobile device to display photos from the handset.

The guys at IPEVO are hoping that the “Kaleido R7 digital frame will give consumers the same ability to engage with their content as iTunes has done for music.” While I don’t think it can live up to that, I do think it does stand out as a very well design product.

Editor’s note – Peter here, I saw this badboy in action months ago and it works great. It’s still a digi photo frame, but the ability to add widgets is pretty cool.
