Or something like that. This little news item is far more homegrown and far less momentous than the bionic eye we posted about some time ago, but that doesn’t make it any less interesting. For one thing, the goal is different: this woman doesn’t want sight returned to her missing eye, she just wants to be able to take pictures out of it — which makes things a hell of a lot easier.
Her demands are pretty light: video and still taking ability, wi-fi, and a Mini-SD card slot. Very good, but did madame mean Micro-SD? It is going in madame’s eyeball. The real trouble would be power and control; it would have to be removable and rechargeable, and be completely water-tight. To be honest, a good engineer and a… glass eye specialist or something could probably put one together for less than $500. Check out her blog here.
