We just got word that HD Radio is finding some friends at the CEDIA Expo. The hybrid-digital format hasn’t exactly been a smash hit, so hopefully the format’s new buddies will provide a boost in confidence. So far the high-end Interga’s DHC 9.9. DTR 8.9, and DTR9.9, along with the McIntosh TM2 and Yamaha RX-V1900, RX-V3900, RX-Z7 models are going to have the HD Radio module. There is going to be over 20 new HD Radio items showcased at the Expo, is if you have been waiting to hear your local radio station in slightly high quality, on your home AV receiver, they are coming soon my friend.

HD Radio Devices Are Part of Digital Home Reality
This year’s Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) EXPO – the largest single event for the residential electronic systems industry – will display some of the latest next-generation components featuring HD Radio technology. Over 20 models in all will be on display at the show and at least seven new products are being unveiled from leading CE brands Integra, McIntosh Laboratories, and Yamaha.
Today, there are more than 1,750 radio stations broadcasting using HD Radio technology with over 800 offering HD2 and HD3 multicast channels, providing consumers in 188 markets with new content and format choices, data services and crystal-clear sound. With coverage reaching 84 percent of the U.S. population, HD Radio technology is the hottest digital lifestyle upgrade around!

Three of the biggest players in the home theater sector are launching new products at CEDIA EXPO. Fresh to the consumer market, Integra, McIntosh and Yamaha will collectively premiere seven new units. Integra’s DHC 9.9, DTR 8.9 and DTR 9.9; McIntosh’s TM2 (module for MA6600 tuner); and Yamaha’s RX-V1900, RX-V3900 and RX-Z7 will all be unveiled on the floor of this year’s CEDIA show.
