The Back Burner: Things we didn't post this week

A big thank you to everybody for filling our tips at crunchgear dot com inbox with wonderful, unique, and newsworthy items. Here are five that we just couldn’t get to this week.

“crunchgear”Domain Name & Internet keyword Registration

Dear Sir or Madam:

We are Beijing Erimut Network Information Technology Co., Ltd in China, which is the domain name registration centre here. A formal application from the company called Edward&Jane Trading (China) Co., Ltd is to register “crunchgear” as their domain name and internet keyword on Mar 22th 2008. Since this involves your company name or trade mark, in no time do we inform you. Please contact us timely if a first registration is needed to protect the domain names and internet keyword.

Kind Regards
Jim.fu

CG RESPONDS:

Ah, JIM FU! We meet again, my arch nemesis! This time we finish what we started — fighting to the death! Tell Edward&Jane Trading that they can have the CrunchGear domain name…OVER MY DEAD BODY! Fight now!

Seriously though, if you guys steal CrunchGear in China we’re just going to write another article about how China steals everything from everyone else. Up to you.

CG RESPONDS:

Haay Bessie. Your company sounds really neat. Unfortunately, we’re going to need the strings. You gotta offer people the strings in this day and age.

You should consider offering the free review and then say something like, “If you’re not 100% satisfied with our free review, you can keep the strings as our gift — but wait! If you call within the next ten minutes, we’ll DOUBLE YOUR ORDER of strings. That’s a $199 value! You’ll get the free review plus TWO sets of strings with no obligation to buy!

ORDER

Hi, Happy Easter to you, i would like to order for some fashion/clothes,items from your store but i would first like to know if you can ship Fedex/Ups 5-7days delivery to Swaziland and Pretoria, South Africa. And also i would like to know if you do accept major credit cards as mode of payment. I will be waiting to hear from you ASAP, before i can proceed with my order. Warm Regard, Pets Centre.

CG RESPONDS:

Hi Pets Centre. Happy Easter to you as well. Get anything good? We accept Diner’s Club and Barnes & Noble’s Frequent Reader card but none of the majors like Visa, AMEX, etc. Also, I believe you may have misread our shipping locations. We actually ship to Switzerland, Peoria, and South Dakota.

I know it seems weird to ship all the way to Switzerland, but who are you to judge what’s weird? Your name is “Pets Centre,” for cracked ice.

I visited your website and had a question

I was looking at websites under the keyword las vegas loans and came across your website http://www.crunchgear.com. I see that you’re not ranked on the first page of Google for a las vegas loans search.

I’m not sure if you’re aware of why you’re ranked this low but more importantly how easily correctable this is.

There’s no reason you can’t have a top three ranking for the keyword las vegas loans based on your site structure and content. You have a very nice site.

You need significantly more one way anchor text backlinks. If you’re interested I can help you with this…

I’m talking about getting you ranked for ALL your keywords. Adding new backlinks on a steady and consistent basis from high PR quality websites is what produces the rankings you are looking for http://www.crunchgear.com.

The right kind of links are very critical in getting top ranking….and I can hand deliver these quality links to you.

My partners and I own 1000’s websites and offer private linking to hundreds of website owners just like yourself.

I didn’t send this email out to very many people but I am currently reaching out to a list of your “keyword competitors” as well. But I do favor your website because I can see your website monetizing the targeted website traffic the keyword las vegas loans can deliver.

I have your contact information and phone number. Is it ok if I give you a call?
I have a very simple way to prove that what I do works and it’s risk free for you to try. Nothing beats seeing the results with your own eyes

Is it ok if I give you a call? I would love to pursue this further over the phone with you or should I go somewhere else?

Sincerely,
Nate Figueroa

P.S – If the tables were turned and somebody I didn’t know came to me with a proposition, even one that was appealing, I would be hesitant because I would be wondering – what’s the catch? What does this guy know that I don’t.

But then I would think he does know something that I don’t know. He does have thousands of high PR websites, he does have hundreds of thousands of pages indexed and ranking in Google Yahoo and MSN. Sites that can deliver the quality anchor text backlinks. I would also think that I need to get my website in the top rankings. And he is offering to turn key top rankings for me…on all my keywords including las vegas loans. Even keywords I’m not currently competing for. Keywords that produce traffic that’s potentially worth tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions of dollars.

I emailed you because It’s a win -win for both of us. Think of it this way – Who wouldn’t be interested in buying money at a discount? Because that’s what I’ll be able to do offer you…Money at a discount.

Is it Ok to give you a call?  Or you can can call me anytime at the number above?
