IBM snuggles up with Apple

Corporate types looking to get their e-mail sync on with the iPhone/Touch are in luck. If, of course, you’re using Lotus Notes, which is pretty unlikely these days. That is a generalization that I’m sure many of you, dear readers, will flame me on, but during my corporate monkey stint I only came across one client who used it. Anyway, IBM is releasing a version of Lotus Notes for the aforementioned Apple devices. That’s pretty cool and a step in the right direction, right?

Macs will also be getting some Lotus treatment by way of Symphony, which is a productivity suite that’s free and essentially mimics that of Microsoft Office or Google Docs or any other productivity suite. This, however, is based on ODF.

It’s all free (Symphony is, at least) and comes out sometime next week.
