Thanks to my good friends at Babelfish, I’m pleased to tell you about the "worldwide beginning about the sale of the AV note PC ‘Qosmio’ which loads the HD DVD-RW correspondence drive and so on".
I think that means that Toshiba’s coming out with a notebook in its Qosmio line that has an integrated HD DVD burner. There’s also something in here about two terrestrial digital TV tuners, Windows Vista, Office 2007, and "12.1" and "wide liquid crystal" are used in the same sentence. That would strike me as odd if this machine had only a 12.1-inch screen. I’m guessing it’s more along the lines of 17 inches or so judging by the photo.
Ah, here we go. Via I4U, there’s a 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics card, dual TV tuner, two 200GB hard drives (!), and a 17-inch screen. There’s something in the press release about December 21st, so that could very well be the release date but I’d assume that it’s Japan-only for now.
