As most of you know, I’ve been traveling quite a bit in the last few weeks and it’s given me some time to really appreciate and/or miss certain toys of mine that didn’t make the final cut. Granted, I packed at the very last minute, which is typical of me, and probably the worst thing I could have done given the fact that I’ll be away from home for three weeks, but I managed to bring along the few gadgets that make life on the road bearable.
The most obvious choice and center of my universe (very sad) is my MacBook. It keeps me connected and allows me to work and bring you, folks, all the cool stuff I see along the way. My Western Digital Passport has been a life saver since my MacBook’s 60GB HDD is pretty much full and an extra 250GB of space is much appreciated. It’s small, lightweight and matches my Mac.
Then there’s my DSLR, Pentax K100D Super, with which I would not be able to record any memories or snag photos of exclusive scoops. It’s easy to use and a great entry-level DSLR since I’m a n00b. Which reminds me that there’s something super cool and special coming up tomorrow around 9:35AM PST.
The next device I can’t live without is my Helio Ocean. This keeps me connected whenever I’m AFK. It does everything I need and more. It’s the straight dope. Heh. And, of course, I wouldn’t be able to survive on the road sans music. Now, I’m the weirdo with both a Zune and iPod. My iPod is an earlier gen that only supports photos and holds up to 30GB of music. My Zune cranks out the TV shows and movies. I like to carry as many devices as possible. I don’t know why. It’s the most annoying thing, but it happens all the time.
