Nokia’s BL-5C Battery May Add to More Than Just Global Warming

nokia1.jpgIf drowning polar bears and beached whales concern you, check your Nokia phone battery. The Nokia-branded BL-5C battery has been found to malfunction on rare occasions, and overheat while being charged. This short circuit can cause the batter to dislodge.

All BL-5C batteries manufactured by Matsushita Battery Industrial Co., Ltd. Of Japan manufactured between December 2005 and November 2006 may star in Al Gore’s next movie (“An Over Heated Truth”). Any Nokia batteries that don’t fit this description are fine.

To check, the battery must be removed from the device. Look to see if the battery front reads “Nokia” and “BL-5C”. If it does, check the 26 character identification number on the back of the battery by going to a web address set up for concerned consumers. Out of over 300 million BL-5C batteries, only 46 million match, so don’t sweat it. Let the polar bears do that.
