In Myanmar, where the news and all forms of media are state-controlled, it is a crime to have a phone from a neighboring country in order to communicate with other parts of the world. Burmese authorities have recently announced a crackdown on illegal mobile phone owners in the border areas. This recent arrest targeted illegal mobile phones from Bangladesh.
