Thorough Investigation Alert: Video Game Prices Are Increasing

There’s no way in hell I’m paying $200 for a video game. It ain’t happening. At the same time, let’s not ignore the fact that video game prices do seem to be increasing. Makes sense to me: we paid $40 for PSone games and $50 for PS2 games.

Basically, Next Gen conducted a Newsweek-like investigation into the topic of increasing video game prices. The online magazine took great pains to emphasis that Guitar Hero II could be viewed as an outlier if analyzed with other sales data. That aside, and several Microsoft Works charts later, we find out that yes, video game prices have increased by a few dollars on the whole.

$60 games are here to stay. The only solution is to riot. Obviously.
