SIA Summer Snowdown 2007: Hands On With OGIO

The SIA show is something I’ve been looking forward to for a few months, while it isn’t the Surf Expo, the Summer Snowdown will quench my outdoorsy action sport needs. There was a ton of cool stuff that I’ll be throwing down as quickly as my phalanges will let me, so stay tuned because there’s something for everyone ranging from gear bags to liquid armored suits.

We’ll start the SS coverage out with a couple OGIO gear bags that any camera/video guy will appreciate as well as a classic with some added flare. First up is the Ty Video bag. It has more room than you have gadgets to fill it with. The main compartment includes a plethora of space and padding, which are removable to suit the needs of your gear. There’s even an exterior tripod carrying strap, so ALL of your gear is covered in one bag.

As you can see here, all zippers are coated and protected to ensure your camera/video camera and all your accessories stay dry so you can keep shooting.

A nice padded compartment for your laptop, so you can edit and upload your cover shots while on the go.

This is the coolest part of the bag, IMO, because OGIO has included an LED flashlight in case your in the dark and need to find that extra wide zoom lens.

The next pack I picked to showcase is the Urboe. It might look like an ordinary backpack, but it epitomizes what a gear bag should be. All compartments are lined and padded so they’re ready to rumble. The laptop compartment is set against your back and the enclosure looks so cozy. It’s so easy to get it in and out. The bottom has a sweet bumper that keeps liquid out and gives your lappy an extra bit of protection just in case you drop your bag. There’s side panel storage for your power cord and mouse. The Urboe is a great laptop bag for those always on the go and has plenty of room for everything you’ll be lugging around. They’re available now for $59 in black, military and garnet.
