SanDisk V-Mate Successfully Puts Video On Flash Cards

. The SanDisk V-Mate connects to your TV and lets you record any video played on the screen (including protected content like studio-produced DVDs) to all varieties of SD cards as well as MMC and Memory Stick flash memory.

CNET has a full review of the V-Mate, which connects to your TV through a bundled mini-plug to A/V composite cable. You can start recording immediately or, with help from the included IR blaster, you can set up timed recordings.

Overall, CNET gives it a thumbs up, despite a few shortcomings: no CF card support, short range on the remote control and recordings have to be done in real time (a two-hour movie takes two hours to save).
