A few days ago, we had come across in game screenshots of a Nintendo Wii using component cables instead of the bundled composite cables. Today, my Wii component cables finally arrived, so I was able to see the difference myself. As I had mentioned in the previous post, the biggest problem I had with the The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was the blurry text, and there’s a lot of it in the game. I decided to go to a scene that had a bit of text and take screenshots using both composite and component cables to show the difference between the two. It’s really hard to show what difference these cables can do in pictures, it’s really all in the motion when you play the game. Though, you’ll be able to see better-defined lines, better-displayed text and an overall better display with the Wii component cables. My advice is, stick with the cheaper $29 ones from Nintendo and stay away from EB Games/GameSpot or Best Buy, who are both trying to sell Wii component cables for $50 or more. Comparisons are below.
