Dell Adds AMD Mobile CPUs To Laptop Lineup

Not a huge shock, but now that Dell’s added AMD processors to its desktop lineup, the mega computer retailer has added AMD’s Sempron and Turion lines of mobile processors to its notebooks. On the consumer side you’ll find the new Inspiron 1501 with a choice of CPUs ranging from the budget (or PoS, depending on how much patience you have while you work) 1.8GHz Sempron 3500+ to the very respectable dual-core 1.8GHz Turion 64 X2 TL-56. The best part is, there’s only a $100 difference in price between the Sempron starting config and the X2 base setup. Everything else you’ll find in the 15.4-inch widescreen pretty well matches its Intel-based sibling, the E1505.

Likewise, the business-oriented Latitude 131L features a choice of Mobile Sempron and Turion processors along with a 15.4-inch wide-aspect display with prices starting at $629.
