SIXAXIS Will Not Offer Replaceable Battery

Japanese tech site Broadband Watch has got some new information posted up about Sony’s controversial PS3 controller, which is called SIXAXIS. Gaming Edge translated the site, and we’ve gotten some interesting information about the controller out of it. First off, the PS3 controller will have to be paired with the PlayStation via USB cable before use. The controller will have to be paired with the console each time the console is completely powered off and turned back on or every time the controller has lost power.

With a two-and-half-hour charge, the PS3 controller will run for 30 hours. However, the batteries in the PS3 controller are not replaceable, meaning a controller will have to be sent in or repaired if the battery dies. Or you can always buy a new one of course. Oh well, better than rechargeable Sony batteries, right? I mean, I don’t want my hands to blow off.
