Lots More Of Mii To Go Around

Remember when I said that the Mii avatar creation on the Wii would provide endless hours of fun? I wasn’t too far off. New information about Mii (from George Harrison, NOA’s Senior VP of Marketing and Corporate Communication) says we’re going to be creating more than one Mii and we’re going to like it. First off, the gathering place of the Miis is officially called Mii Plaza. Mii Plaza will be able to hold up to 100 Miis. You can also store 10 Miis on your Wiimote, so you can take them wherever you go.

If you don’t want to take your Wiimote with you, and still want to have your Miis show up at your friends house, you can always send your Miis to someone in a message. I really didn’t think Miis would play such a big part of the Wii interface, but I was wrong. It all sounds fun, too. One of the more innovative features about Miis is that you can place them into games. For example, in Wii Sports you will be able to play with your Mii, as well as drop other Miis into the audience. Harrison also stated that one of the purposes of creating Miis is to close the gap between kids and their parents. Kids can make Miis of their parents and interest them enough so they join in. (Yeah, I don’t know about that one, either.) So far there are only two games that use Miis, but there’s sure to be more Mii games in 2007.
