Iomega UltraMax RAID Compatible 640GB External Hard Drive

This Iomega UltraMax external hard drive is compatible with Macs and PCs and is styled like the Mac Pro, which means it’s big, silver and looks like a cheese grater. The UltraMax has a triple interface, which means Firewire 800, Firewire 400 and USB 2.0 are all supported.

Using the external switch, you can also turn off the RAID so you can double your storage but lose the redundancy. You can format this to Mac’s HFS+ or NTFS or FAT32 if you’re looking for Windows compatibility. It should be available on September 11 from Iomega’s website for $449.95. It even comes with EMC Retrospect Express, a backup software that works with Mac and Windows to make sure all your data is safe from hard drive failure. Unless this hard drive fails too, which means then you’re screwed.
