Mobile Music Floundering?

Entertainment Media Research conducted a study regarding the proliferation of mobile music downloads, which found that 44 percent of users had no interest in downloading music to their cell phones. The survey also found that only 6 percent of mobile users would download music from their cellular provider’s portal.

These numbers aren’t surprising to me in the slightest. For all the noise made about the ability to download music to one’s cell, I’ve seen very few people actually using their phones for music. Maybe the providers will pull off a surprise win in the end, but I’ve never really seen this taking off, at least not in its current state.
