iOS 7 is the seventh major release of the iOS mobile operating system designed by Apple Inc. It was announced in June 2013 at Apple’s WWDC and released in September 2013.
iOS 7 includes a significantly redesigned user interface and numerous functional changes. Its design was the first version of iOS to be led by Jony Ive, who became Apple’s Senior Vice President of Design in 2012.
Features include the AirDrop, App Store, Camera, Control Center, Music and iTunes Radio, CarPlay, and other updates like wallpapers, infinite tabs, parental controls, and improvements to Twitter sharing and Reading List.
With iOS 7, Siri features a new translucent redesign to match the rest of the system, new male and female voices, improved control over system settings, and superior integration with Twitter, Wikipedia, Bing, and Photos. Other changes include audio-only calling with FaceTime Audio, Tencent Weibo integration, Wi-Fi Hotspot 2.0, OS-level call blocking, app-specific virtual private networking, and activation locking through Find My iPhone.
