Ellen Pao is the interim CEO of Reddit, focused on business development and strategic partnerships. Previously, she worked as a partner at the venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and held various operating roles and corporate development roles at BEA Systems. In May 2012, Pao filed a gender-discrimination lawsuit against Kleiner Perkins and was subsequently fired from the firm.
Before BEA, Pao worked for Tellme Networks and Microsoft’s WebTV division and served as a consultant at MyCFO and at Danger Research. She began her career as a corporate attorney for Cravath, Swaine & Moore. Pao holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University, a JD from Harvard Law School, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
