  • Nintendo's Miyamoto: The next Wii will likely not be 3D

The Nintendo Wii is the hottest thing since, well, the Nintendo Game Boy. It showed consumers (and Microsoft and Sony) that motion controllers are the future. However, even though Nintendo jumped on the 3D bandwagon with the 3DS, Nintendo’s Miyamoto doesn’t see the Wii’s successor hopping on board, too. Read More

  • Nintendo patents Wii hard drive system, but is it for them or us?

A patent application has been filed by Nintendo for a system of delivering and navigating Wii games via hard drive. It’s really simple, actually: the game disc is ripped to a DVD image, which image is given its own partition and loaded on demand. Essentially, they’re doing what pirates have been doing for the last decade or so. The question is whether this system is actually a… Read More

Rejoice user! Devin won’t be keeling over from auto-erotic asphyxiation after all. The TRON controllers that he saw at E3 and threatened to hold his breath over? Well, they are going to be for sale. To be honest, I haven’t considered replacing my stock Xbox 360 controllers until this point, but now I’m afraid I have no choice. Read More

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword might be the Wii’s crowning achievement, magnum opus and the single best reason to buy the system. It’s going to be huge. • The Playstation Move is a Wii clone – but it's awesome

The Playstation Move is just what it looks like: a Wii clone. It feels the same, looks the same, and works the same. That’s a good thing, though. Everyone and their grandmother has played Wii bowling and knows how it works. Sony isn’t reinventing motion control with the Move. They are, however, seriously improving it. Read More

  • Wii Vitality Sensor announcement on Monday?

So Nintendo has announced a “special joint announcement” with the American Heart Association for Monday. What could it be? Well, let’s see here — which of Nintendo’s products directly measures your vital signs and seem to have been invented strictly for Iwata’s twisted health purposes? Ah yes, the Vitality Sensor we saw at last year’s E3. Read More

  • You can now play Swords with your Wii (thankyouvermuch)

Moving on, Majesco Entertainment just announced a sword fighting game cleverly named Swords. It uses Wii MotionPlus for 1-to-1 accuracy as you fight your way through “eight skilled adversaries” with a sword Wii Remote add-on. Expect the game this September. To be honest, I couldn’t care less about the game or the sword Wii Remote thing. I just wanted to use my juvenile headline. Read More
